PARParts & requisitions platform for an airline flight simulator department

I'm the sole developer of the inventory, procurement, work-order and budget system a 40-person simulator maintenance team runs on. It replaced MS Access and GigaTrak, and it links 6,000+ simulator schematics to live stock.

pocket429ARINC 429 decoder and word builder for avionics technicians

Decodes and builds data words (BNR, BCD, ISO-5 text, parity, bit-order detection) against a label database compiled from cited OEM manuals. It can also read words off a photo of an analyzer screen, on the device.

Smart mirror booting: MIRROR-OS boot text typing over the dimmed widgets.
Smart mirror in its cyberpunk theme: clock, rain forecast, calendar, notes, headlines and a notes QR code, with katakana rain falling because it is raining outside.

Smart MirrorA Raspberry Pi magic mirror with a cyberpunk streak

A monitor behind two-way acrylic, run by a zero-dependency Python server and a browser UI in a self-starting Chromium kiosk. Weather, calendar, news and household notes posted from phones by QR code, with live push. It greets whoever's home by pinging their phones on Wi-Fi, so nothing leaves the LAN, and a PIR sensor wakes the screen.

Cached, stale-on-failure proxying so it never goes blank. Easter eggs: a MIRROR-OS boot, katakana rain when it's actually raining, and a fake netrunner intrusion. Also ships as a Windows Rainmeter HUD and Win11 theme.

03 How I work

AI writes most of the lines. I'm accountable for all of them.

My workflow, in concrete terms.

A · PARALLEL AGENTS

I run agents like a small team

I split work into scoped tasks and run several Claude Code agents in parallel: one on a data migration, one on tests, one on UI. Then I review and integrate what they hand back, the way a tech lead would.

B · OWNERSHIP

I own architecture and review

I decide the data model, the boundaries and what ships. I read the diffs. When something breaks in production, it's my problem, and I can debug it without the agent.

C · QUALITY GATES

Tests are the contract

Every project has automated suites and a gate that only ratchets up: 340+ checks on PAR, including headless-browser end-to-end tests on a CDP driver I wrote, and 267 on Crumb. On PAR, agents work on scrubbed database copies, never live records.

D · THE FACTORY

A pipeline for the routine work

A personal "factory" uses the Anthropic API to score product ideas, draft store listings and summarize reviews, so my build time goes into the product itself.

04 Experience

Eight years on aircraft and the simulators that train their crews.

  1. Jun 2025 – present

    Flight Simulator Engineer Alaska Airlines

    • Engineer for Boeing 737/787 and Airbus A330 full flight simulators on CAE XR, R4, R5 and L3Harris platforms, kept to FAA qualification standards.
    • Lead the summer intern team building a standalone 16-MPIC test bench, so simulator I/O and aircraft panels can be tested without taking a training device offline.
    • Built and deployed the department's parts and requisitions platform (case study).
  2. 2022 – Jun 2025

Flight Simulator Technician III Alaska Airlines

    • Maintained and troubleshot CAE and L3Harris full flight simulators, clearing time-critical faults before scheduled training.
  3. 2018 – 2022

    Maintenance Services Technician Panasonic Avionics

    • In-flight entertainment software validation and systems verification inside the Boeing 737 MAX and 787 factories, ahead of customer delivery.
